Professional Background

Ellen Harris is a Registered Dietitian / Nutritionist with more than fifteen years of experience. She uses an integrative approach combining traditional western with complementary modalities in private practice and corporate consulting.

Her prior work experience includes Nutrition Program Manager at Hanscom AFB; Newton-Wellesley Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Program; Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Outpatient and Cardiac Rehabilitation Center; and the MGH Weight Center.  She did her nutrition internship at Children’s Hospital, Boston, with a focus on inborn errors of metabolism.

Ms. Harris graduated from Syracuse University, with an EdM from Boston University.
– She is a Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) in food sensitivities;
– has CDR Certificate in Training in Adult Weight Management;
– trained in the Advanced Practice Program for Nutritional Professionals at the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston.

With a previous background as an illustrator and art teacher, Ellen brings a fresh perspective and intuitive approach to her counseling. Her recent talk topics include “Nutrition and Macular Degeneration”, “Foods That Fight Aging and Inflammation”, and “Managing Your Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes”.

She’s flexitarian- and macrobiotic-friendly, and welcomes all ages.
